Cisco AnyConnect and Windows 8

Question Info

Cisco AnyConnect Error “The VPN client driver has encountered an error”
Retry your VPN connection should work now. But it isn't free, is it? I have it running just fine on my Win7 x64 install at work. I have seen so many people go through this ridiculous process of uninstalling and Reinstalling the VPN Client. I think the issue happened after a Cisco update occurred which set IPv6 and then, since I put my laptop to sleep each night, it worked for several weeks until I had to reboot the system at which time the connection failure loop occurred as noted above. I wear a lot of hats Sorry, it's a ASA running 8. I've got ASDM 6. The AnyConnect client is 2. I also tried all this on the last, sequential previous rev 8.

Pete Long Technical Consultant Commented: Are you fixed I cant it working either? Nope - nothing yet Thanks for sharing your notes. Unfortunately it doesn't solve my problem.

The problem I'm having is with using the AnyConnect client on Vista I don't get this error on XP -- everything works fine on XP. We've since backed off to 8. Still the same problem with AnyConnect problem with Vista, though I'm thinking the problem exists in the AnyConnect client when installed on Vista.

Have you tried AnyConnect on a Vista machine with your current config? Not yet but I will: It worked for me with the release preview and it worked again for the RTM build.

Thanks for sharing this!! I did this to make the client work originally, then our network team changed the router. The client version 3. Imagine though that when you are looking at the start screen, the Windows 7 search prompt is there. Really appreciate the time you took to document this for other people. This resolved my problems also. Your email address will not be published. Notify me of follow-up comments by email. Notify me of new posts by email.

Cisco , Windows 8. Microsoft Deployment Toolkit Notes. Deleting all network printers on a client with PowerShell. Glad I could help. Hi Have not tried out that part yet. Thanks for this fix. Worked like a charm on the Consumer Beta after a restart. Did you ever find a solution, Bobby? I am getting an error at the same place.
